The last date for downloading the scanned copy of the evaluated answer booklets for class 12 board exams 2026 has been extended by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This is a relief for students who were hoping for a confirmation of their marks, a re-evaluation of their marks or just wanted to see their performance in the recently declared marks of the board.
The CBSE has released the latest notification about provision of Scanned Answer sheets. According to the notification, students can now apply to get their scanned copies of the answer sheets until the revised date mentioned on CBSE's official website. The extension was added due to several requests from students and parents nationwide for the extended application process.
The board has clarified that only those students who appeared in the CBSE Class 12 Board Examination 2026 are eligible for applying for the Scanned copies online. The candidates are required to log in on the portal using their roll number, school number and admit card id to pay the fee.
Revised Schedule for CBSE Class 12 Answer Book Process
To enhance transparency in the evaluation process and to ensure understanding of the marking process, CBSE implemented the facility of scanned answer books. Students can then check for any possible discrepancies or calculation errors prior to application for verification/re-evaluation once the scanned copies are received.
The education experts believe that it will eliminate confusion and will be helpful for students to have greater confidence in the assessment process. It is also common to advocate students to use the answer books after they have been scanned to study how the questions are presented, how answers are structured, and how answers are marked, which would help them in any competitive exams they would then take in the future.
The board had recommended that students finish all the process well in advance of the new deadline to prevent any technical hitches on the portal on the last day. CBSE has further mentioned that the application which is submitted after the deadline will be ignored under any circumstances.
Students can also connect to Online Universities for free career counselling with that too at absolutely zero cost. Students are advised to see the official CBSE website regularly to get the latest updates on the result of the verification, re-evaluation, and the final corrected mark sheet (if applicable).
