The IIT JAM 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment List will be released by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) today on the official JOAPS portal, candidates who had attended the counselling & choice filling session can check their admission status online with Enrollment ID and Password.
The IIT JAM Admission Process is organized for admission into M.Sc. (2 year/3 year), Joint M.Sc-PhD, Dual Degree and other PG Science Programmes provided by IIT and Participating Institutes. The Round 1 allotment is believed to be an important step because the candidates who got allotted seats in this round have to confirm their admission within the time frame.
The allotment for seats is expected to take effect in the afternoon or evening but the precise time has not been officially announced by IIT Bombay, students will be advised to check the JOAPS portal regularly for updates.
The allotted candidates will be given the options: Accept and Freeze, Accept with Upgrade and Reject and Exit. Satisfied with the allotted institute and course, those can freeze their seats & others can choose to upgrade them in future counselling rounds.
